trashyrich1157 Posted June 27, 2009 Share Posted June 27, 2009 I bought a new stylus for my Pioneer PL 41 from e bay, I put it in and it sounds horrible. The best way I can describe it is "shrill" lots of distortion, sounds like an AM radio. I just pulled the old one out and pushed this one in. I have put the old one back in. even the GF said "That sounds like crap, put the old one in". Any ideas, the new one looks exactly like the old one. I am stumped. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dennie Posted June 27, 2009 Share Posted June 27, 2009 Hey Rich, First, let me say I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to TT set up. But a couple of things come to mind. Did you check alignment, tone arm weight, etc.? Are you sure the wires are correct and not broken anywhere? Did you change anything else?
