doctorcilantro
I am planning on shipping my RF7s from Florida to Colorado, and I have been looking into various options for a while. I thought I would canvas the group for ideas as I do not have the original boxes. UPS would have to use two boxes to make one which I feel is questionable. Uhaul wardrobe boxes? thanks DC
RockOn4Klipsch
Order some new boxes and shipping material from klipsch and ship them via freight. Best and safest way.
Daddy Dee
Y'all Haul wardrobe boxes would be a good start for diy boxes for shipping most things. I've used them cut down to ship various things. They would need a 3-4 inch minimum of styro sheets wrapped around inside. Still I'd be concerned about RF-7's surviving UPS even in factory packaging. I've read recent a recent thread about some reference speakers (sorry can't remember which) that UPS murdered on two attempts from an internet Klipsch authorized dealer to a buyer. A UPS or FEDEX package should always be wrapped to survive a five or six foot drop, which often happens off the fast moving conveyors used by both. The package can arrive visibly intact, but it's easy enough for a driver not to stand up to the G forces of such a drop. Shipping on a freight pallet would be safest. I would imagine this is the only way Klipsch ships to dealers.
doctorcilantro
Klipsch told me they were out of boxes as the RF7 have been out of production for some time. DC
jacksonbart
You're unlucky unless you're getting them shipped to you
