captmobley
I have an opportunity to get a pair of Pioneer Elite MX-10 amps for my home theatre system. I want to amp my front and center speakers, and though my Pioneer Elite VSX92-tx recevier claims to put out 130 watts per channel into 8 ohms, I can definitely tell the difference when I go from stereo to surround. Does anyone have any experience with these amps-are they worth $550 per pair(100 watts per channel) or is my hard earned $ better spent elsewhere? There are 3 Marantz MA-500 monoblocks local for $150 each, but I have no experience with those. Thanx for the input.
Colin
can't find Pioneer specs but with "20 Hz - 20 kHz <.09% THD 180 W into 4 ohms" 600 watts dynamic power into 4 ohms, I would rather have the Marantz trio

wuzzzer
For a 3 channel amp, something like this would work very well: http://cgi.ebay.com/Adcom-GFA-5503-3-Channel-Amplifier_W0QQitemZ260411638919QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca1be4487&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 This one's a 7 channel amp which would allow for a lot of future upgrading: http://cgi.ebay.com/Outlaw-Audio-7100-100W-x-7-Channel-Amplifier_W0QQitemZ130317215553QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1e5782e741&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1234|293%3A1|294%3A50 5 channel amp from Rotel: http://cgi.ebay.com/Rotel-RB-985-100w-thx-5-channel-power-amplifier_W0QQitemZ250458445831QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3a507c9807&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1234|293%3A1|294%3A50
