JL Sargent
I picked up a pair of these off Craigslist. They sounded terrible at first. But then I found about an inch of bug debris down in the throats. After a good cleaning they now sound real good. Looks like aluminum diaphrams. I suspect they are replacements and these came with phenolic when new. Anybody know the specs. on these drivers by chance? They look related to JBL or Coral but I don't know. They are mounted on horns about 28" wide.
djk
The 'A' in the model number indicates it was aluminum. It's an improved copy of the JBL LE175 and is basically the Coral M-100. In the past I have put JBL diaphragms in them. Altec may be made to fit as well (aftermarket aluminum types). A Dukane 5P350 is a phenolic JBL LE175HP (the regular LE175 being aluminum). A Dukane 5P355 is a phenolic JBL LE85 (the regular one being aluminum). A Dukane 5P360 is a phenolic JBL 375HP (the regular 375 being aluminum). JL Sargent
Ok, thanks for the info Dennis. That makes sense about the A.
