masterxela
Last week I came into possession of 2, QSC OT-300a 70-volt audio transformers. http://www.qscaudio.com/pdfs/ot300a.pdf I'd rather use them to make something cool, then sell them, and I remember that tube amps use transformers of some flavor. I know very little about tube amps, but have had 3 electrical engineering courses in the last 3 years, and know my way around electrical theory in general. Can I make a tube amp with these things? Where can I read about tube amps, operation, construction, etc? Are there any worthwhile "kits"? I don't need an integrated amp. Just a stereo amp that would end up driving klipsch's or possibly some full-range stuff. Thanks, Alex
Tom Mobley
those are not output tranny's and won't work for that purpose. They're for stepping up/down systems to the 70 volt commercial standard.

jwwrs
Alex, Took me a while to find it, but here is a great little book on tubes. May not be what you're looking for, but it's a wealth of information. RCA Radiotron Manual....1929 The pdf download is near the top of the page. Enjoy Randall http://www.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/~reese/RC-10.html/ Edit: Maybe I'll learn how to make a clickable link someday.
