Sound_Species
I'm looking for a replacement "Subwoofer Driver" used in the Promedia 2.1, as the Surrounds (rubber/foam?) on the orignal Subwoofer driver have completely disintegrated. ricardobentes
I have this exact same problem. Anyone knows where I can buy a new driver for the subwoofer? Thank you all!
pjd2011
What are the specs for the stock driver? 6.5" 8 ohms or 4ohms?
ricardobentes
I tried a 8 ohms, 100watt driver. It worked but lacked power so I took it back and ordered a 200watt. I'm still waiting for it so I don't know if it will work.
Mister_Clean
if I recall correctly they are a 6ohm speaker, and also, ordering a higher wattage speaker will not increase the power going to the sub, but changing the ohms resistance will.so in other words, if you use a 4ohm speaker (100 watt) and a 8 ohm (100 watt) then the 4 ohm will actually draw more power from the amps than the 8 ohm giving it more power, but at the same time, if you draw too much power from the amps then you can burn them out. just food for thought. ricardobentes
That makes sense. Thanks for clearing that out! I'll try to find a lower resistance speaker before going for a higher wattage. Thanks!
