chuckears
You guys fans? As for myself... I read the books as an early teen, and have read them somewhere between 7 and 10 times now... twice out loud, to my daughter. I thought I would go nuts waiting for it to be released; everything I was reading on the net indicated that they were actually trying to get it right. I loved it; it obviously was not as good as the book, and scores of pages of material had to be skipped or modified, but I thought it brought Middle Earth and the core characters to life better than I could have hoped for. And the impending release of the DVD, especially the longer version, is what pushed me over the edge to get the DVD player, then on to upgrading to HT... Thank you, Peter Jackson! seventeenmonkeys
actually i know aguy whose a real good customer where i work also said that the film did a great job of recreating the book, except that they changed some details in the movie which he couldnt understand since it made no difference to the actual story. he told me he's read the books at least 20 times.
