theformer45
I recently picked up a set of RF-35's, a RC-35, and a Sub-12 on craigslist. I have been looking for a set of matching RS-35's for the past couple weeks, no luck. So now I am looking for some input on alternatives that will work for me. I am using an Onkyo HT-R550 receiver. I'd like to get something for $200-$300 max for the pair. I was looking at the S-3's, Vanns has a low price on them when compared to the S-1 and S-2. Just don't know if the S-3's would match well with my current setup. Thanks in advance...
willland
Welcome to the forum. Nice system. A pair of used RS-42's might do the trick. I am using a pair of RSX-4's as surrounds with my RF-63's and RC-64. Though not the perfect match, they do work quite well. I do think you should stay in the ref. line if possible. Maybe even try a pair of RSX-5's if you can find them. Here is a good deal from an authorized dealer. http://www.wwstereo.com/#/ecommerce/store/Speakers/33/144911// http://www.wwstereo.com/#/ecommerce/store/Speakers/33/144920/9_1_40_8__0_0_0_-1/ Post your location so members can help you find something in your area. wuzzzer
Pretty much any of the Reference RS series surrounds will work. eBay always has tons of them for sale both new and used.
lo123
I have RF-35 mains, RC-35 center and run R-5800 in-walls for my rear/surround set. This combination holds up well for music and for movies.
