Allan Songer
I was wondering if anyone has tried swapping the T-350 for the T-35 in older Klipsch? I know they're bloody-expensive and rare, but I have the opporunity to pick up a pair in trade and would like some impressions from those that know. I think the were used in the EV Patrician and Georgian K-Horn clones.
Al Klappenberger
Allan, Don't do it! The T-350 is just a T-35 with a bigger magnet. That makes it more efficient, that's all. You certainly don't need a more efficient tweeter in a Cornwall when the tweeter is cut down by the network anyhow! Al K.
TBrennan
Al--Not true, the bigger magnet of the T-350 also gives it, besides more efficiency, more extended highs than the T-35. The bigger magnet "brute forces" the mass of the diaphragm to give this extension. A friend uses both T-35s and T-350s and the T-350 is the better sounding tweeter. khorn58
I think the T350 could work if The right xover over was used. The Top of the line (klipsch licenced)EV speakers of the 50,s used this. The one holy grail super khorn they made used this as well as the 18 bass driver in a larger corner horn that wrent down to 18hz and up to 22khz. A pair on ebay is selling for around 600 and climbing This message has been edited by khorn58 on 03-03-2002 at 09:12 PM
Allan Songer
I think I'll make the trade and sell them on ebay! Then I'll can buy some more vinyl with the profit! Don't want to mess around with the X-over for what might be no gain. THANKS GUYS!
