ShapeShifter Posted March 6, 2002 Share Posted March 6, 2002 I really love my Quartets. the often overlooked little jewel in the Heritage Line. Been using mine with an Eico HF-81 and presently trying them out with a little Jolida 102B Integrated. I really enjoy the speakers with both amps, the Eico is my favorite because it is smoother, probably due to its tube rectification and point to point wiring. The Jolida is a very close match in overall sound quality and has more bass impact, maybe due to it solid state rectification. The Eico's are vintage and may require some electronic and soldering skill based their 40+ years. Jolida 102B's are still being produced and used ones can be found well under $400.00. Both use the EL84 tube which is a very good and musical tube. I really like the sound of both on the Quartets. Good bass too. I'm very happy to see another Quartet owner on board. Oh!
