cdoo932
I just found out that one cone on my rc-62 isnt working. I took a little battery and touched the speaker wire to check phase and one cone was fine and the other didnt move. I thought I noticed it wasnt sounding right when I was real close to it. I took it apart to check for a lose wire and everything looks fine.Any help as to what to check for would be great. I have a new Onkyo 5007 coming and I want everything ready to crank when it gets here. Thanks, Steve Bond
Groomlakearea51
Still under warranty? I'd call Klipsch Tech Support if so. Otherwise you may want to narrow it down. Remove the driver and repeat that test. If it works when out of the cabinet, then look carefully at the crossover to make sure the driver lead wires are still connected, etc. Others may be able to assist you. cdoo932
Also the center speaker has been causing the onkyo to shut off (protection mode) when cranked up. If I unhook the rc-62 and use another center it dosnt. No idea what is wrong.
Groomlakearea51
There's a "short" somewhere in that speaker, for sure. Disconnect the speaker from the amp. You can cause the amp to "clip" and have additional damage, not only to the amp, but your main speakers.
DU73
like groomlakearea suggested if it is under warranty then return to dealer and if not i dont think it is too hard to replace and if you dont know how to do it, like me, then ask the question here and you will be in safe hands.. Good luck.. let us know how you go..
cdoo932
I took the driver out and tried a battery on it and it does nothing. The little wires look good as does everything else.Anything else to check with the driver?
