stanton turntables

My sister is getting into vinyl and 2 channel systems, I just bought her, her first pair of Klipsch for Christmas(some kg1.5s for her apartment) well she now has found a Stanton str8-20 on cl with no cart or hard shell, for 30 bucks. Is this worth the dough to put a cart and more money into I think she has about 100.00 to put into it. It looks to me to be a dj unit so didn't know how anyone felt about using it for 2 channel. I also read that there's a lot of use of Stanton carts so I might figure they make good tables also. Let me know what you folks think.

I just got a shure cart for my cheapo technics and man is that a difference from the audio technica.(had to through that in there)

thanks duder.

No, $30 goes alot further, with a solid, vintage table, solid plinth, more refined tonearm and neither made of plastic.

And that's coming from a DJ.

$20 for a headshell, $40 dollars for a basic AT cart, unless you give her your old one.

$90 will get you a very good, complete, basic model from the 70's that will blow the plastic Stanton away.
