csemoses
great, thanks! So... if banana plugs are used, and they arent huuuuge ones, you should basically be able to have it right smack against a wall or shelf?
darylomer12
Maybe... If not right smack against the wall, very, very close.. I'd say maybe an inch or so. May just be easier to not use banana's if you don't have enough room.

csemoses
can any of you tell me if this speaker will stay on a 10" shelf (using bare wire, lol...) ... thanks
darylomer12
Well... The RC-64 is 13.5" deep, so your gonna have 3.5" hanging out of the shelf.. I probably wouldn't, but that's just me...Can you post a picture of the shelf?
csemoses
not at the moment. It's 10" ... straightforward, heh. If it wont fit, i'll affix some kind of metal bracket underneath, with rubber pads on it, to hold the front of the speaker. Figured i'd ask anyhow here... Jay481985
It will be most likely fine. Remember the speaker is front heavy due to the heavy magnets attached there. If you get paranoid, you should get some 1/8 inch thick wood and place it under the speaker to give it proper support. BTW if the shelf is mdf, I would be more afraid of bending as the rc-64 is one heavy center.
csemoses
You mean 1/8" wood under the front of the speaker, to tilt it up a bit in the front and transfer some of the weight to the back ? The shelf is metal, with tempered glass on top of it. Part of a TV stand. Uh... check it out here: http://www.sonax.ca/Webpages/ProductInfo.asp?disp=series&series=milan&model=ML-1450 If you click the "5" box picture, it shows the 10" shelf at top, directly under the TV. Ive got my center (Boston VR12) on the middle shelf now (it weighs ~32lbs) ... no way i'm putting the RC-64 on that glass, tempered or not!
