freddyi
I need to mate 511/K55V on top of FH1 to APT150 - what uF is good? (my measuring system is torn down)
Marvel
Fred, I am using an APT150 on my LaScala, and built a crossover by John Albright, one of the forum members. It sounds wonderful, but I am a low power guy.. Bruce
Marvel
I put the APT150 on a small baffle, and aligned it with the K55 driver. It has made a huge difference in the sound and imaging. Bruce
kg4guy
Bruce what are the crossover points?
Marvel
Ha... you had to ask. I think they are the standard for the LS, at 400 and 6000. I know many have done the 4500Hz using the CT125 (this uses the same driver, just with the Eminence horn). I will add that, with my SET amps, these are very smooth sounding. Aligning the tweeter with the K55 seemed to bring it even more into focus. I don't notice a problem with reflections off of the top of the LS cabinet with the tweeters at the back edge, either.
