carbon summit
I just saw these on ebay and have to ask what is so special about them that they are going for so much??? http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-Cornwall-Crossovers-1978-Type-B-1978_W0QQitemZ260549603431QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVintage_Electronics_R2?hash=item3ca9f77067
Bonder
Absolutely nothing special about those, first time bidder, perhaps he/she got carried away? or it's simply a bogus buy.
carbon summit
Looking at the bid history it looks pretty legitimate up $12 then after that it looks like two guys bidding it up hoping some idiot bids once and gets stuck with it. carbon summit
I knew it just didn't make sense unless it was some weird rare crossover. When I saw that auction I regretted rebuilding my crossovers. Thought I should have bought new ones from BEC and then sell my old ones for a profit if I had the same wierd rare crossovers. That would be my luck. Have some crazy rare thing and mess it up putting new caps on it. None of that made sense, which is why I asked!! Deang
Some people think those old cans are paper in oil, and consider them to be the Holy Grail of capacitors. Problem is, they're not paper in oil.

Problem is, they're not paper in oil. I kept the old caps and tweeter diaphragms just to show the next guy if I ever decide to sell them. Maybe I should throw them on ebay and hope somebody pays way too much for them. I really think the auction linked above was a guy using two different accounts or friends to bid the crossovers way up hoping somebody would bid just once and get stuck with them.
