SCOOTERDOG
Long time no posty...I posted this over in home theater section because that is one of the threads I use to frequent often. Anyway should mave placed it here. Below is my question...Thanks HeyI have a pair of SS-1's I am going to place them in my RV. I plan oninstalling a 12 volt in-dash dvd receiver since I do a lot ofboondocking. The car stereo is 80 watts per ch (morelike 25wpc) but of course presents a 4ohm load to the speakers. Will this in-dash beable to drive my little SS-1's and at least sound somewhat decent? Look Forward to hearing from all of you
CECAA850
The speakers present the load to the amp, not the other way around. I'd rig a temporary wiring setup and see how they sound. Putting an 8 Ohm speaker on a receiver that can handle 4 Ohms is no biggie.
Ironsave
Back in the day, I had an alpine detatchable face deck in a 79 Trans Am. I had no back speakers so I connected it to 2 bookshelf speakers (do not remember the brand, but had 8" woofers and ferrofluid tweeters and were 8ohm)..... These kicked some arse, for being speakers in my back seat with no amp..... Yes your deck will work; however the SS1s are just like my SS3s design wise. They may not sound so great for music...... (Great for HT though). Good luck.
