Should I bi-wire my new Klipsch WF-34's and any suggestions for a sub $600 receiver?

I recently replaced my Boston Acoustics Lynnfield VR965 speakers with a smaller pair of Klipsch WF-34's. I honestly have not considered getting rid of my Boston's until I took a moment to listen to the WF-34's at my local Best Buy. I was surprised by the sound that came out of these skinny sexy tower speakers and I knew that I had to have them. A few friends laughed at me because they have B&W speakers, but I was not going to be swayed.

So now I have them set up in my living room. I have an older Sony STR-DE895 receiver that has served me well for the past 6 years. However I cannot help but feel like my old receiver is not up to the task of powering my new speakers. Someone told me that I should bi-wire the speakers to my receiver to improve the sound, but after doing a bit of research, that doing so wouldn't really make a difference. Any tips or suggestions?

I was looking at the STR-DN1000 by Sony and the Pioneer VSX-1020-K. I want something that can take my HDMI devices and give me good sound through my new speakers. I am sort of an amateur at this.

Thanks!

Welcome Navadog! Congratulations on the new Klipsch Speakers! [Y]

I have to agree with Jason, there is no need to bi-wire with the gear you have now. You're not going to hear any difference.

If this is for your HT, you might be better off asking this question in the HT section. Now, if your receiver has "pre-outs" I would bet those beautiful speakers would benefit from adding a 2 channel amp.

You can look in the "Garage Sale" section here or try Ebay. There are many, many good Stereo amps out there that will do those speakers justice.

Dennie, who uses Pioneer in his home theater and loves it! [:P]
