Moderators dtel Posted March 23, 2010 Moderators Share Posted March 23, 2010 Sorry for being so late to post something but we have been VERY busy with company and working on a new room. I got the Headphones I won from klipsch and to my surprise it was the Image X5, I was not expecting this model to be honest. I love them, I did not have any headphones and it has been years since I last owned even the over the ear style and they were not a really good sounding set. I was very surprised at the difference in modern well made headphones. Well I am not going on saying the normal things like " I can hear things I have not heard before ", but I did ! They are very clear and detailed and not having in ear headphones before there is a difference for the better. There is one thing I noticed, I keep saying " just one more song " and I will get back to work, and I end up listening for another hour. They really sound good and are comfortable enough to wear for long periods, you forget there on. The bass is great but the midrange and high frequencies are unbelievable, the overall sound is perfect to my ears. After years of noisy jobs my ears are far from perfect and then add in my age 52 and no matter how good a speaker is some sounds are not as clear from a speaker that is across the room, and I am not just talking about the normal high frequency loss from age. But with these in ear headphones it must be helping with some of that, I seem to be hearing the music in much more detail and clarity and I have not turned them up very much at all so it's not volume. Overall they are very comfortable and sound great, I need to get something portable so I can use them outside and other places. I like them more than expected and wanted to say Thank You Klipsch and Amy for these headphones, they will get used alot. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But I thought you did say something like that after the orginal "secret" demos of pre-production models at Pilgrimage 2007.... I think you got the best of the remaining models. The Custom 3 was the absolute best but unfortunately is no longer available. I've used the Custom 2 and Image X10 quite a bit and the midrange and highs in the X5 are MUCH better to me.... maybe more the mids. I think P Thump has said the X5s have a more forward sound than the X10s... well I like it better. While the X5's supposedly don't have the bass of the X10's I haven't found them lacking in my all too brief few minutes audition. I think P Thump even prefers the sound of the X5 over the X10 and he knows and loves bass. Enjoy your new phones. I did, but I had no idea what I listened to, or even if what I did listen to made it into production ? The ones I listened to that year was the best sounding headphones I had ever tried. The ear problem I have is just like what they say on hearing aid commercials, like in a restaurant or a room full of people and there are many background noises and others talking it all kind of gets blended together. I can hear it all but it just gets a little blurry. I think thats where the headphones help, the undistorted sound is directly in the ear so there is no other sounds blending in, just a guess ?
