Litz wire for inductors, does it matter which you use?

I'm winding inductors for my own personal fun. I noticed several people here have used Litz wire for improved performance. Which one though? Does it even matter? I noticed there are at least 8 different Litz configurations for wire.

New England Wire has this type 2 14awg Litz on Ebay:

Would that be appropriate for mid or tweeter inductor winding?

One last question: Is larger inductor wire always better if all else equal? (IE: Solid core 10awg better than solid core 12awg.)

Thanks for any advice on this.

Litz wire is suitable for higher frequency inductors as it shows a lower impedance at the higher freqs. This affects the Q of the inductor and causes attenuation (slight) at higher freqs if the inductor is in series with a driver. Wire gage that large will quickly result in a large coil of wire and require more feet of wire than a coil of smaller size wire. Usually large wire is employed in woofer coils where input power is usually greater, but Litz wire is unnecessary at woofer freqs.
