Dennie
Hey Kary, Welcome to the Klipsch Forum. We're glad you're here. I've never had that model, but from what I've heard around here is, they run hot! 55 degrees C = 131 degrees F If my memory is correct, that is about the normal operating range of that unit. Maybe someone who owns one will stop by soon. Again, welcome! Dennie
Dennie
BUMP! I received a email from our friend Kary in Poland. He is pretty worried about his Pre-Amp running at 131 degrees (F). Does anyone have experience with these? Thanks, Dennie
Matthews
I have a Yamaha C-6. I think they were in the same era for I have a T-70 tuner and M-4 amp that were all purchased together. Not sure? I still have the equipment if there is any way I may help. It has been awhile since that stuff has been used but I dont remember ever noticing excessive heat from the "controller". stereo-equipment -junkie
I have a C-45 and a C-50. Both units run very cool to the touch. The C-45 is out in the open and is the top component. The C-50 (very similar to the C-70 except for some tone controls) is in an entertainment center but has room around it for adequate ventilation. I'm not sure what might be causing your unit to run hot. Is there enough room around it for air flow? is there anything on top of it that might be hot (my cable TV converter is next to mine and it is always warm to the touch even when it is powered off). Sorry to not be more help. Welcome to the forum. Rusty
thefluffy
It is actually the norm for the C-70 to run hot. Mine runs pretty hot. But, I've never measured the temp on it. I think 130 F could be possible though. IIRC, I found other people with the same experience over at audiokarma. Daniel
