Recommend Texarkana for Food, Drink, and Hotels...

Recommended Posts

I grew up there...great place to be FROM. Seriously, it's a decent size place and by Indy or Houston standards right next door. The drive is less than thirty minutes of country freeway.

Some very good hotels right on I-30, and some very fine restaurants. For the Mexican food crowd, I highly recommend Zapata's, downtown and just across the street from the Arkansas Muncipal Auditorium where Elvis played regularly in the '50's. Excellent food and drink in a variety of styles and prices, and a great weekend scene...at least by the standards of the area.

As to driving and drinking, if you have had enough not to be able to handle the short drive to and from Hope, you shouldn't drive in Hope either...
