cheric
Hi everyone, I just purchased a set of Heresy II (1986) speakers and upon inspection, I found out the two woofers were not the same. One came with a K-23-K woofer and the other with a K-22. Will these work or do I need to replace them with K-24s. Thanks in advance for your help. Guest David H
Bummer, neither one of those woofers is correct for HII. I believe you should have k-24-K. Bob Crites sells a replacement woofer for those. Or you can upgrage your HII's to HIII's, with the Klipsch Kit. Dave
cheric
Is the K-23 a replacement for the K-22 (Heresy I series)?
Malcolm
K-23 was used in the Forte.
cheric
Could Heresy II (earlier model) with round cup be converted to Heresy III ? Or do they have to be the later model with a square/rectangular cup?
Marvel
Could Heresy II (earlier model) with round cup be converted to Heresy III ? Or do they have to be the later model with a square/rectangular cup? The bigger issue is the motorboard, so the parts fit correctly, but yours would also require cutting out the hole for mounting the input jacks/crossover. Not an impossible thing to do, but would be more work. Check out Colter's posts on making a a whole new cabinet for the HIII parts to fit in. I would upgrade my own HIIs if I had the money.Bruce
cheric
Bruce, Thanks for the advice. If I had the money I would to, but for now.... BTW, why are the older H II rated at 4ohm and the newer ones at 8ohm? any major differences?
Marvel
Sorry, but I can't give you an answer for that one. The round cup Heresy IIs are a bit of an in between model as they transitioned to the later HII. Other than that, I don't know.
