moray james
I have for sale a set of oak cabinets for a pair of Forte ll with grills and terminalcups/crossovers, no drivers, must be a PICK UP ONLY in Salisbury Maryland. Time frame is for pickup within one to to months. I just purchased these from a member here last week and they are now in Salisbury where Al Klappenberger is redesigning a new crossover for the Forte ll and expects that process to take a month or two. Once Al is done I would like to have the cabinets picked up from Al in Salisbury Maryland. The cabinets are in very good condition and come with grills, terminal cup and stock crossovers. I would like $100.00 to help offset the cost of this project. These were purchased so that Al could have a set of working speakers to do measurements on for the new crossover design process. A new home for these cabinets would be very much appreciated and would help as this has been a stretch for me. The Forte ll is a great speaker and Al's new crossovers will only make them better. I am sure that Al could use some support also in terms of crossover sales to make this project worth while. This is the second non Heritage design that Al has done. Given the availability of all new upgraded diaphragms (mid and tweeter) for the Forte ll this is an excellent opportunity for people to down size save money and have better speakers. I simply want to upgrade mine. I would like to thank Al for with out his support and assistance this project would not be happening. Thank you Al you are a true gentleman. If you would like a new set of Al's Forte ll crossovers that will have to be negotiated with Al directly but I am sure he would be happy to accomodate you at that time. Best regards Moray James. http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/142819.aspx ....... see pictures of the cabinets from the original owner here. bobdog
Looking forward to these as I own two pairs that I have been meaning to recap but have not had the time. The big issue will be that I will have a hard time spending nearly as much on networks as the speakers are worth. Last week I purchased a used set of ALK universals of of Ebay for my Khorns and I am sure they will be well worth it, but if the cost for the ForteII is any thing like the other ALK offerings it will be a non starter for many. Putting a couple grand into upgrades for my Khorns would not be out of the question for me, but any thing I would do for the Fortes would have to be way less than $500 or even $300. moray james
In the interest of simplfying things it would be best to sell these Forte ll speakers intact after Al is done testing them. The speakers will be sold for my cost of $400.00 plus $40.00 for transit to Al for a total of $440.00 pick up only no shipping from Salisbury Maryland. The speakers will have stock factory crossover and all factory drivers. If you want a new set of Al's crossovers please deal with Al directly. (I can't think of a better set of speakers to match with Al's new crossovers). Time frame for pick up is minimun one month max two months from now. Please contact asap so we can make arrangements in advance. Thank you, regards Moray James.
Al Klappenberger
Guys, The speakers will be used mainly to take measurements. I'll be posting the new design here for anyone who wants to build it as DIY project. Just like I did for the Forte I. Because of the cost I would only offer it as a parts kit when it's done. Al k.
