Bob Dylan, Modern Recordings & illegal downloads

One could only read this Reuters dispatch culled from the Rolling Stone interview and laugh, given the bald curmudgeonly-crank nature of the pronouncements.

"I
don't know anybody who's made a record that sounds decent in the past
twenty years, really," the 65-year-old rocker said in an interview with
Rolling Stone magazine... "You listen to these modern records, they're
atrocious, they have sound all over them," he added... Noting the music
industry's complaints that illegal downloading means people are getting
their music for free, he said, "Well, why not? It ain't worth nothing
anyway."

FWIW I recieved Dylan's "Modern Times" as a Xmas gift. Folks, this album smokes!!! I'm not a huge Dylan fan and don't care too much for some of the swooning balladeer tunes but the other stuff here GROOOVESBABY!!!. Loose & tight, outta-sight [H] . Drummer George Receli is just absolutely awesome. Listen to the shuffle on the snare while a steady & consistant light ring off the bell of the symbol with that "flat tire" kick drum. It's like three different people playing the kit at the same time. Amazing.
