I just got below system in a combo deal -

1. Yamaha RX-V667BL

2. Klipsch RB-41 II: - Pair

3. Klipsch RF-52 II Floorstanding pair

4. Klipsch RC-52 II Center

There is not subwoofer included.

Frankly I have streched my budget to get all these together.

I want to know if Sub purchase is delayed by few months would it be OK ? May be until I get a decent deal.

Can this system without Sub give reasonable bass in 18 ft X 19 Ft room ? Or system wont soung good without Sub ?

funny thing is I am yet to hook this system together. I know I have to listen the sound but just want to get a feedback from experience people in this forum.

Also which would be a good match sub for this system , which wont be costly ?

Would other company Sub work well ? I see lot of deals on Polk Sub these days. Any other such recommendation would be appreciated.

I am kind of new bee who does not know much about Cross over !!

The system will sound fine for now with music but for movies you are going to want that low frequency impact(.1 channel) of a subwoofer. I would not set your system up to let your fronts handle the LFE(.1) channel. Those 5.25 drivers will not reproduce the effects that you would get from a sub.

Where are you located? Scan your local C-list and find an inexpensive sub(that you can afford) to fill the gap until you get the $$$ for a better one. Let us help you find one.

I see yyou have streched your budget; but what is your budget you can spend?

You may find a good deal on CL for something used; perhaps between ~$125-~$200......

I suggest looking for :

Velodyne; Emotiva (doubt you'll see it); M&K.... Hsu; Epik; and SVS are likely too much $ used. (More like around $250 and up).....

Maybe for under $100-$75 you can find something decent that will get you through..... perhaps an old Kenwood powered 8" sub (had one; boomy; but good for movies) or a Klipsch KSW 10.... (Again; good for movies only)..... There might be the Polk you refer to; or even a JBL sub......

It depends where you live and what the market is like there........

The nice thing is you can turn around and resell these at little loss in 6 months......

Otherwise; I suggest saving your pennies for a few months......

Your system will sound really good with music; but for movies (as mentioned) you will want some LFE.....

Good Luck.......
