Kain
BTW, how do these subwoofers compare to the "new" SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier? By "new" I mean with the SVS SS driver. ------------------ Coming soon... TheEAR
Questions question huh Well TheEAR has some answers,as usual The JBL Ti-K Master sub has a an advanced electronic crossover to blend to almost perfection with your speakers and room. The Ti-K slave subs can be used alone but do not have the high tech EQ the master has. The Ti-K slave sub costs around $5000 and the master Ti-K sub goes for $6000-6500.All in US currency Up to three Ti-K subs can be conected to the Ti-K master sub and use its EQ. I did not compare the Ti-K to the SVS Ultra, and much less the new Ultra.Hey cant have it all dammit. Prestige Audio-Video from France tested the Ti-K sub and had some measured performance. It beat the crap(well outperformed)the HGS18,Revel B15 and ANY high end sub they tested(and they tested almost all high end subs, save for the SVS Ultras). The sub gave over 120dB at 50Hz and remained over 110dB at 20Hz!OUCH this is serious whoopin I cant imagine anyone with a single Ti-K to be bass deprived. LOL Imagine a Master Ti-K sub with three Ti-K's conected to it. The price is also in the stratosphere I can bet the SVS Ultra/SS and the JBL Ti-K perform about the same down to 25Hz and from then on down the Ultra/SS beats the Ti-K by a bit. However from what I remember the Ti-K beats any sub around 40-60Hz. The SVS SS or JBL Ti-K are awesome subs, the JBL Ti-K cabinetry is also first rate, and with the awesome JBL 15" heavyduty woofer you will get as much slam as you may want.
