juniper8
I am putting together some speakers and the crossovers have 1/4 jacks. These speakers came out of a small home studio years ago and the first owner bypassed the jacks with wires. I had my speakers worked on and the "tech" removed these wires. My question is which connection would be better, using the jacks, or wires directly to the crossover. Thanks for any help or info!
Don Richard
Those 1/4" jacks are notorious for oxidizing and causing bad connections when carrying any amount of current, such as in a loudspeaker. Bypass the jack.
juniper8
Thanks for the info! I thought there must be a good reason for it.
Daddy Dee
I agree. The jacks are simply a convenience for making quick changes. There is not much contact area on those rascals either.
