wdrazek
Hi, I just picked up a pair of Forte's last night and one has a torn center and the other is very weak and looks like it is on its way to being damaged. Aside from buying new drivers what else can I do? After googling around, it appears that replacements are not easy to come by.
Brac
Start with a picture of the damage.

Brac
Ok the one that looks weak, you can spray with clear varnish, (spray can). This can help stiffen it up, and keep it from getting worse. The other we need more info, tear? hole? size?picture?
djk
The dustcap is an ordinary felted type. Cut the old one off (exacto knife) leaving an 1/8" ridge. Glue the new one on (Weldbond) directly over the ridge of the old one, use a small weight to hold in place while drying (I use a D cell battery). Measure the diameter (2-3/4", 3-3/4", 4-1/2", 5-1/2") and call: http://www.speakerrepair.com/
wdrazek
Thanks for the feeback on this. It appears this isn't as serious as I had thought.
