LarryC
Haven't you already discovered that no one from this speaker forum has shown that much knowledge about these obscure Asian amplifier products? I suggest you contact someone here: http://www.classic-audio.com/marantz/esotec.html (note that it's Esotec not Esoteric.) Or you could just get it and find out for yourself. sheltie dave
Come on, I already told you it is better. The Esotec Class A is very, very good. If the 2230 and the PM6 are both in showroom shape, or if both are in average similar shape, the Esotec wins hands down. If you have access to a good tech, I wouldn't even think about it. If you were sitting here, you would get a nyuck nyuck.

quadklipsh
i always revert to pm 6 after listening to 2230 only because of the more neutral sound of the pm 6 but the sweetness of 2230 is jaw droppingly good and makes it difficult for me to think of leaving it ..... sunnysal
Esotec was the pinnacle of Marantz SS products. defined and produced as such. So I suspect that the Esotec should win a "sound off" all things being equal. reagrds, Tony
