question about bi amping/ wiring RC 64, RF 82's.

biwiring is great...for asthetics, it doesnt serve any beneficial purpose. When you biwire you are removing the pretty shiny binding straps on the terminals of the speaker. When you do this, you move the parallel wiring point from the speaker to the amp. Thats the only difference. With the speaker bindingstraps on, the parallel wiring point is at the speaker. It i simple electricity, if you dont understand, thats ok, series and parallel can be a tough concept to get a hold of and seeing it in practice can help or hinder understanding it. If youhave the straps on and a single pos/neg wire going to the speaker, it doesnt matter which post you use for the pos or the neg as long as the pos goes to pos and neg goes to neg. The straps split the power and makes this possible.

Bi amping..now you are talking something that can be beneficial. If you are using a 7.1 receiver, some have the option to do this, but you can use 2 of the designated surround channels to bi amp your rf-82's. You remove the binding straps when you do this. Why is this beneficial you ask? Receiver suck at power output for the most part, you are basically feeding more juice to the speaker by using the extra channels which can give better performance. Can it be noticable? Yes it can! Is it often worth doing? Not really, just depends on your situation.

Just to give you an idea, your typial receiver rated at 100-120 wpc will yield aroun 40-60% of specified power with 5-7 channels being run. That means like 45-65 watts per channel. Why you ask? Its all in the marketing. The companies arent lying, they are just running 1 channel or 2 channels. All in the marketing.
