i did not mean to make it sound like there is such a thing at this time. i was saying that i have read it on the net at random places and heard if from some home theater stores, but they just said that that is what has been going around, that that is what will be to come, not that it is here, now.

i agree, there is no 8.1 channel receiver, for consumers, at this time, much less a 9.1. it is not super easy to find a 7.1 even and i understand the difference between channels and speakers i have to explain that in the promedia forum a lot, people wanting two 5.1's for a 10.2....
