denon 2802 vs. outlaw 1050

both are 6.1 units...any major differences that would justify a switch from my denon 2802 to the outlaw? this isn't out of the blue. i love the denon, but may have the opportunity to sell my existing equipment to a friend and upgrade at the same time.

thoughts?

I wouldn't switch. To me the Denon name has alot more behind it. Plus to me the Outlaw looks cheap. Ya it may not be but to me looks also matter. I would never trade in my Denon 2802 for an Outlaw.

hehe...that reminds me of some of my friends...

i would show my receiver to them and they ask "but where is that blue light? you need that light!"

riiiiight. so now sony's "blue light" for dolby digital makes it better. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

wanna buy my sony? I know u do.. LOL i need to sell that

thing.. I wonder if the Harmon Kardon AVR-220 I just

got my dad would sound better than it.. Or outperform

it .. Its rated 45watts x 5 vs my sonys 110 x 5 I would

think the HK would be better but ill find out soon and

if so off to either Denon HK NAD or Outlaw.

I'm an avid fan of Outlaw, I convinced my dad to get one, but I don't necessarily see it as an upgrade from a Denon 2802. The variable crossover is nice, but that's about all it has over the Denon. Sound is pretty much identical to my ears. Pretty much the same whistles and bells. If your friend offers you a good price for the Denon and you feel the need for something new, go for it.

If you were just starting out and were to choose between the 2, I'd say go Outlaw. $499 (same price still, isn't it?) is a steal for a piece like that.

Denon AVR-2800

KG-4 mains (too bad the rest of my speakers aren't this good)

Polk C-175 center (it's ok)

Infinity RS-10 Surrounds (suck)

Audiosource SW-15 subwoofer (excellent sub for it's price)

Pioneer DV333 DVD

Sony 5 disc CD player

All in a 12x12 apartment bedroom.

How about how does the Harman Kardon AVR-510/520

compare to those 2? I know the 510 is only 5.1 and

the 520 is 7.1 but i got the 510 now and was wondering

how it compared to the outlaw and 2802.. I almost got the

Denon but decided to go with the HK for the price i got.
