chuckears
Drat! Someone nabbed the ebay Academy. These things are as elusive as intelligence in Washington (D.C., that is)... I am fairly happy with my KLF-C7 and Forte match, but I would pay original retail for the Academy in oiled oak, and this one looked great. ------------------ Klipsch Fortes, Oiled Oak Klipsch KLF-C7 Center Channel McCormack DNA-1 Power Amp McCormack TLC Pre-Amp Harmon Kardon AVR520 Receiver Sony 5-disc changer NHT SA3 Subwoofer Amp Hsu TN1220 Subwoofer Old Akai cassette Deck Nordost Solar Wind interconnects Nordost Moonglo Digital Coax Kimber 4TC Speaker Cable (Future upgrades to include): Klipsch RS-3 Surrounds A big-*** HDTV
chickey
Looks like the dot com days of the Academy are back! Opening bid of $400, reserve not met... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1356833509 You know, I'm no marketing guru, but if Klipsch were to reissue the Academy, that might be able to ship a good number of units. kev313
Colin, I nabbed one of those oiled walnet acads on audioreview for 365.00. The seller of those two oiled walnut acads at audioreview posted them on May 19. No joke, I got this speaker (found the listing abyway) by Google'ing "Klipsch Academy" on May 25. Lucky on that one! jhawk92
And I, or rather my parents, picked up the second one. It should arrive tomorrow. Now they have walnut all round with Forte IIs/Academy in front, Fortes as surrounds, and a pair of KG 1.2s for the eventual 7.1 system. And in their 2-ch system...walnut Chorus IIs. Ah, Klipsch heaven! Yahoo, post #400! I may hit "No Life" soon!
