philly0116
Ok. So I noticed a bit of "static" or "distortion" in my kg 2.5 and kg 4s on the left side. I panic....I try the left side speakers hooked up to the right....no static or distortion. I take the set from the right and put over on the left, static and distortion. Im not talking a lot but is noticeable. I have an older jvc amp....is it possible that the receiver is screwed up and only affecting the left side? Thanks for any input. mustang guy
Do you hear the static from all music sources? Just ruling out an antenna problem first, if it is radio only. Do you have a receiver hooked up to an amp using the pre-out's? That is what you described. If so, try using the receiver speaker outs of the left channel. If it is clear, then try some deoxit on the left channel RCA leads and the amp left speaker outputs, and/or replace the RCA or XLR cable going from the receiver to the amp. If you aren't using a seperate amp, then try some deoxit on the speaker terminals of the left channel. If none of the above clears it up, then it must be internal to the receiver. Unless I am forgetting something.
philly0116
Thanks for the reply. It actually happens when I am playing cd's. Radio, tv, movies, all that is fine, no static. I have a new receiver in route. I'll be able to hook my gear up to a new receiver. Hopefully that will fix it, lol.

It could be the CD player or the interconnect(s) from the CD player to the receiver. Are you connecting the CD player by RCA cord? Try swapping the Left and right (red and white) RCA's, and see if the noises switch sides....
philly0116
Man you nailed it! It was the left connection on the disc player! Why didn't I think of that?!?!?! Thank you!

Mighty Favog
I did the same thing. I got a Wire World Solstice 6 RCA for my Oppo 93 and thought it sounded like crud. Pushed it in a bit further and VIOLA!! Clear as a bell.
