tube fanatic
This should get very interesting as bidding draws to a close: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cherry-Red-Stereo-Tube-Amp-Amplifier-Bob-Carver-Vintage-/180924704523?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item2a1ff3e70b
artto
ROTFLMAO I thought Bobby said he "could make a transistor amplifier that sounded like any tube amp". If that were true...................... [6] [] Yeah, I know, blame the marketing department, right?
tube fanatic
That 80s amplifier challenge was sure interesting to follow. But, there's just no charm in solid state devices- nothing compares with glowing tube filaments!!!

But, there's just no charm in solid state devices- nothing compares with glowing tube filaments!!! Yes, it sure was. I even borrowed a trio of those Carver M1.0t ("t" was for "transfer" function, as in tube transfer function, I believe). They lasted in my system for about all of 5 or 10 minutes before going back to the dealer. No match for the Luxman triodes.
