Quadrophenia

Anybody else catch the one night screening of the Quadrophenia documentary? Pete Townsend produced and nararated it , with a lot of "behind the scenes"stories about the making of the album . Hopefully it will come out on DVD as it was good enough that I would probably watch it a few more times. It was really good to see the boys performing parts of the album on a really big screen...damn theater didn't use the sound system appropriately though.

I can remember when 'Quadrophenia' was first released: I bought the two-tape, 8-Track set, which I nearly wore out. I was amazed by the innovation of the manner in which the songs were written and performed. "Sheer genius!" Although, my 8-tracks are long gone, I still have my 2-disc (or is it 3?), vinyl album in my collection in near-perfect condition. Great stuff from those punks! It's a keeper! -Glenn

The Who has always been one of my favorite bands, Quadrophenia one of my favorite albums. I have never grown tired of it, and still have not outgrown the "teenage angst" in the lyric's. I went to the Who's website to see if they were selling the DVD , and discovered Roger and Pete have assembled some musicians to do a Quadrophenia Tour.

Gotta love it.
