The cherry finish on the RF-83 is a real wood veneer while the RB-35 has a vinyl veneer. The vinyl veneer of the 35's is also lighter than the 83's wood veneer. Makes sense but if they are not right next to each other, you would notice it much less. I have a cherry vinyl RSW-10d(little darker) within two feet of my cherry RF-63's, and it is barely noticeable unless you have a bad case of OCD. My RB-35's are lighter than my RSW but it may be due to age(sun fading?) so the ones you are interested in could be closer to the RSW finish.
