I thought the rf-7 classics had a wood veneer front ??

It is wood. Maybe it's not a good picture to see it well. What do you see?

I see plastic as well. I own the same ones. They have plastic on the front for the woofer/tweeter fascia.

Actually the fronts of original RF-7's are wood. I use to think they were some sort of plastic laminate too but I found out they are actually wood or a wood product like MDF.

However the "classic" versions have more square front sides with wood veneer same as the rest of the speaker. From the pictures these do look like original RF-7's not classics.
