dust caps

Recommended Posts

I've been keeping an eye on the used mkt. as Im always curious to see whats out there and what the mkt prices are on things. One thing I've noticed is, not surprising, that its fairly common to see older speakers with dust caps that are pushed in or creased or some other oddity. Often the seller claims that the performance is perfect. Im curious what the general concensus is among the forum. I realize each case will be different but generally speaking what is the thought? I ve recently come across a pair of cornwalls that appear to have the centers of the woofers pushed in and Iam trying to decide if its worth my while to make the hour drive to audition them. Also trying to figure out how to negoiate a fair deal in the event I decide to go for it.

As always I appreciate any thoughts or insights. Thanks for your time.
