Framer
I have a SW-15 I thinks it has a blown amp. I can't turn it up very loud without it poping. The speakers are in verey nice shape, the rubber is soft and they move smooth. I contacted Klipsch to maybe fix it they said they couldn't but recomended a amp to replace the defective one with. They recomended a Young SD200-6 Class D subwoofer plate amplifier module with 6db @35 Hz. Is this a good choice in a amp or are there better ones out there to use to refurbish a SW-15. I would apreciate any and all help from everyone. Thanks all, Derek
derrickdj1
http://www.amazon.com/Premier-Acoustic-PA-120-Titanium-Subwoofer/dp/B0021I0DD8 Amazon has some Bic amps for about the price of the plate amp. No labor and a new sub without spending a fortune. The PA 120 is also a very nice budget sub.
Framer
Thanks for the information. Do you know anything about the plate amp that Klipsch recomended. Sure don't want to throw away my SW-15, it is in very nice comdition. The amp never did work right from the day I bought it but the enclosure and speakers are just perfect. CECAA850
If Klipsch recomended it as a replacement, I'd get it. They know the filter settings and power output of your original amp. I can't imagine they'd recomend it if it wouldn't work.
