Carver M-500t - SOLD!

EDIT: SOLD!

Hey guys,

I'm going through my old gear and came
across an old Carver M500t amp that has power supply issues. It's not
functional, and makes various popping / buzzing noises. I don't know what's wrong with it, but it will have to be repaired. I figured I'd throw a feeler out and see if anyone was interested in it, and what you thought it might be worth as is?

This is one of the transfer function amps, and has the big meters on the front, which are pretty cool looking. It's rated at 250 w/ channel, and used to power my Dad's subwoofers for a few years. It used to work fine as long as it was left on, but whenever the power went out, the amp would have trouble settling in again. Eventually, it just stopped settling in altogether, and was replaced.

What do you guys think?

I owned one for about two years and other than replacing a light in one of the meters, I had no issues.

I sold it when I bought my MC-2105 and wished I hadn't.

As for price in the condition it is in, I don't have a clue.

Let me know when you figure out how much you want for it. If you don't want much, I may think about taking it off your hands.

I hate buying things with issues, because you never know what the cost will be, if it is repairable.

Cornwalled, I have a Carver M-500t. I have had it for several years. Has been a great amp and sure like the sound of it. But I have had the same problem

that you are experiencing. It seems to be something in the amp filtering, what I've been told? Was very inexpensive to repair.
