Quickest way to Cornscalas?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about asking a local speaker builder to upgrade my 1977 Cornwalls.

If I wanted to buy the parts today, where would I do it? Which horns and crossovers would I buy?

Definitely do:

  • Buy the bigger midrange horns
  • Make cutouts and install (flush?) them
  • Install new crossovers

Maybe do:

  • Replace all internal wire
  • Replace woofers
  • Brace cabinet

Except for flush mounting the drivers, I have completed all on your list of "Definitely Do" Can't imagine a quicker or easier way to move from Cornwall to Cornscalla. The results are incedible and probably at least 90% of all you will need to do. If you've ever used a router before, installing the larger mid-horn is a simple project. No need to use a speaker builder.
