RickFL
Here is a picture of a Linn Sondek Basik from 1983 that came with an extra new old stock A&R P77 cartridge I found on CL. Good combo soundwise. The turntable was a royal pain to setup but rewarding. Listening to the Rolling Stones Aftermath "Under My Thumb" with that fuzzy bass giving the Klipschorns a workout. Love it. garyrc
That was reputed to be a great turntable. Is this the same Linn as the Linn in Linn Records the maker of Linn SACDs? I'd be surprised if they embraced digital, but they may have. I remember the founder/CEO of the old Linn saying that one shouldn't have any other diaphragms in your music room (other than those in the speakers), i.e. no other speakers, and not even a telepone. Also, are they the people who make that loudspeaker that appears to be about 7 feet tall, with multiple woofers, typically advertised in the back pages of stereo magazines? I think that Linn uses a double n, like this one. Edited February 24, 2014 by Garyrc
