toolz
Does anyone have a network schematic for the RB5 II. Thanks.
Deang
The network is attached to the rear of the terminal cup. You will need a torx bit #20 to remove it. Once you get it into your hand, the capacitor and resistor values are clearly marked on the parts. The part values, including those for the coils, are also imprinted on the PCB. Replace the oval, epoxy coated capacitors with high quality polypropylenes of your choice, and the resistors with Mills non-inductives. Due to the close proximity of the coils to one another, there is a considerable amount of mutual inductance. Klipsch accounts for this in their designs. Therefore, I suggest you leave the coils alone. Hope this helps. Edited March 22, 2014 by DeanG
toolz
DeanG - Thanks for the information. I have the cup removed. I was trying to determine the low pass cap value. It looks like a 20uF. Edited March 22, 2014 by toolz
Deang
You could actually leave that part alone. Ironically, the quality of the capacitor in the low pass section is considerably better than the two capacitors in series with the horn. I don't replace that capacitor when I do the RF-7s, all of my work is contained to the high pass section.
