BShelton
Very nice forum here, lots of the discussions here helped sway me to purchase the used KG4.5s I've been listening to.. The woofers have been replaced, I'll have to look up the specs on the replacements; ..Will I gain much by going back to the originals? Where can I find them at the best price? Thanks. dougdrake
I take it they weren't replaced with original equipment??? Your best bet for info is Klipsch tech support, at 1-800-KLIPSCH. Also, you can ask for parts and get a price on original equipment replacements. Doug ------------------ My System
BShelton
Thanks for the reply. I talked to my buddy yesterday - to let him know I'm getting the speakers. He said he had called the number you have and got a quote of around $86.00 per woofer. He replaced the woofers with MCM...they have rubber surounds, 2" voice coils, 8ohm,and 35oz magnets. He said that he and another guy had switched out several woofers and hadn't heard any difference! I'm going to use these woofers for a while, and concentrate on switching over the rest of the speakers to Klipsch. ------------------ -Billyc>s>

Yes and some people can't tell the difference between some cheap Radio Shack Optimus speakers and a set of Klipsch Refenence Series speakers -- but that doesn't mean their isn't a very big difference!!! Unless he really did his homework (and compared specs like Vas, Qms, Qes, Fs, etc.) or got really lucky then his change is likely a negative one.
