raincity
Hello. I've had a pair of Synergy Floorstanding 1's for a while. Recently I moved to a new town. I've found a grill of SF1 had been lost. It's ok but other problem cant be compromised. One tweeter of my SF1's doesnt emit any sound. I tested it with the other tweeter and found that everything was working fine except that tweeter. I must get a new tweeter but I still cant. Because I live in korea , I found it so hard to get any audio-part of klipsch. There is just one local Klipsch dealer here and they said they dont have it. So I've sent e-mail to klipsch help center several times but I've got no reply yet. Two weeks have passed. Can anyone plz tell me where to get a klipsch unit? I'm starting to think of buying new klipsch speakers (cheaper ones) only to pull out a new tweeter. Any help ? Thanks This message has been edited by raincity on 07-20-2002 at 06:04 PM
justin_tx_16
could it be as simple as a wire was knocked off in teh move? you could try opening it up and looking for any loose or dangling wires. ------------------ -justin SoundWise Support A technical help site created by me and my fellow Klipschers promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5 s>
raincity
Thanks , Justin. As you suggested me to do , I had opened it and checked wires and found everything was normal. I detached that broken tweeter and replaced it with a noname brand tweeter . It worked fine. The noname brand tweeter emited sounds normally. So I guess I need to have a new tweeter. Thanks. WMcD
Hmmm, sometimes the moderators monitor the forum. I note that Kerry Geist popped up when his name was mentioned. Maybe if we say Trey Cannon, Trey Cannon, Trey Cannon, while looking at a CRT he will appear. (That is a joke, sir.) Seriously, if you don't get an e-mail response soon, you should try telephoning Trey Cannon at 1-800-KLIPSCH. He should be able to sell you an new tweeter. Maybe a new grill too? Tom Mobley
He'll need the non-800 Klipsch number, US 800 #'s generally can't be dialed internationally. Anybody know it? raincity
Thanks for your kind replies. I've been to klipsch local dealer again. They said they could get the tweeter for me. But they needed to order a pair of them not single. Plus, including shipping cost, the total cost would be very high. I guess buying new speakers cost less. The local dealer suggeted me to fix it instead. I've found a good audio repairment shop which can fix almost all audio parts. They told me they could replace burned coils inside the tweeter but they are not so sure about the sound quality of recoiled one. I am wating for the repaired tweeter now. Thanks a million.
