New Denon DVD Player?

Does anyone know when the new Denon DVD-900 will be coming out?

I need a new DVD player for my living room and I am extremely unhappy with the Toshiba 5700 I just picked up. I only have about another week to return it, but don't know how long I could last without a DVD player--I might get the shakes and end up in the fetal position on the floor if I don't can't watch new movies like Lord of the Rings!

Thanks

Thanks for the speedy replies.

The MSRP on the 900 is $329, so I don't think it should be confused with the 9000.cwm12.gif

Wow, thanks again. I've been checking Yahoo Shopping almost daily for the past few weeks, with no luck. They must have just added that.

I'm a little concerned about buying online though, with all the fuss Denon has been making lately about no warranty from unauthorized dealers.

One of the main reasons I am interested in that player is because it has the coax output. I was told coax was better from a few different dealers so I splurged on a nearly $200 coax cable for my old DVD player. So now I'm kinda stuck needing a player with a coax out.

Not to bore the world with my DVD buying needs, I'll stop now.

But thanks again to all the replies. This group really is the best for Q&A.

I've posted to an actual DVD newsgroup and got no replies. I post in a Klipsch group and not only did I get answers, but I got them within 24 hours of my inital post!

Keep up the great work all.

yes, Denon shares the same warranty, or near so, as Klipsch. Not authorized, no warranty.

You spent $200 for a coaxial digital cable?! Why not just get a rca cable, and if it means something, get an RCA Monster Cable or some Pheonix Gold's

Or heck! Radio Shack brand monster cable clones for half the price of the monster cables...

That looks like a nice piece, from Denon. Passes below black, 24/96 pass-through (which your 3802 will handle nicely, BTW, if you have CDs encoded that way), Faroudja engine. Only thing missing is SACD/DVD-A, but you I guess you can't ask for it all at that price.

FWIW, I use $15 optical and/or coaxial (video) cables from Radio Shack for my digital audio connections...

Believe it or not, I do hear a difference. Whether or not it was worth the cost, I don't know.

For me it was.

Its a personality quirck I guess. If I buy a DVD player and receiver, I want to make sure I'm taking full advanatge of their potential. I don't want any weak links.

So I've always gone overboard on cables. The guys in the shops even shake their heads when I tell them what I need the cable for.

Let me finally put this post to rest by saying I picked up the Denon DVD-900 today and hooked it up to my TV.

I experienced the same problems (washed out colors)I had with the poor Toshiba 5700 that I've been cursing for about 10 days now.

It was only then did I realize that it was not the DVD players, but rather my Monster Component video cables.

So for all of you who insist that cables mean nothing and are a waste of money, I say you couldn't be more wrong!!

Needless to say, I won't be in the market shopping for Monster Cables anymore.

I'm gonna look into a MIT Component cable or maybe I'll just pick up a BetterCables.com Silver Serpent Component cable.
