mobile homeless
Let's journey to the time machine where we hop into the Scott 299C blast to the past auction with this virtually NEW and unused unit! It's still in its box with the tag on one of the knobs. Can it get any better for your Scott fiends? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1368320472 Bidding now nearing close to $700. kh ------------------ Phono Linn Sondek LP-12 Valhalla / Linn Basic Plus / Sumiko Blue Point CD Player Rega Planet Preamp Cary Audio SLP-70 w/Phono Modified Amplifier Welborne Labs 2A3 Moondog Monoblocks Cable DIYCable Superlative / Twisted Cross Connect Speaker 1977 Klipsch Cornwall I w/Alnico & Type B Crossover Links system one online / alternate components / Asylum Listing f>s> This message has been edited by mobile homeless on 07-30-2002 at 05:32 PM

InventiveAudio.com
Mobile, Have u listened to this Amp? I just did an A/B of the 299B and my SS amp. How does the 299B compare to other tube amps? Is it considered to be one of the best, middle of the road,? ------------------ My Klipsch Page www.nyonline.com/klipsch
NOSValves
trader, Well I'm a little lopsided when it comes to Scott Amps but the 299s are Scott's Premier Amps and I would say of that day they were considered Upper Middle class. I personally think they sound awesome to my ears especially spinning Vinyl. Kelly, I've been drewling over that listing for a week. But it exceeded my pocket book about the second day Craig ------------------ HH Scott 299 Amp HH Scott LT-110B Tuner HH Scott P-87 Turn Table JVC JL-F50 Turn Table Sony CDP-CA7ES CD Drive 1985 Walnut Heresey I W/Layne Audio Woofers KSW-15 Subs>c>

CaptnBob
You know, this is kind of sad when you think about - the guy had his dream system in his closet for probably close to four decades and never got the chance to enjoy it. I guess there's a lesson here for all of us ... Capt'n Bob

InventiveAudio.com
I hope the person who kept it did so to remember his dad. If so that would be nice. ------------------ My Klipsch Page www.nyonline.com/klipsch
