Skelt
Looking at a pair of these. 18" woofers and 15" passives. I cant find many topics related to them. Does anybody have much experence with them? How well would they pair up with La Scala fronts? I mostly listen to 2ch and only occasionally watch movies. My room is rather smallish at 12 x 18. twistedcrankcammer
They don't sound that great, ask Michael Colter. I think you would be much happier with a single KPT-684 or a pair of the single 18" KP T-484 version of this if you could find them. These are great for music, but don't really go low enough for movies. Roger Edited March 22, 2015 by twistedcrankcammer
Skelt
Would the woofers be a candidate for a diy sub?
twistedcrankcammer
Woofer in what model?? The KP-480?? Roger Edited March 22, 2015 by twistedcrankcammer
Skelt
The 18" woofer is a K49. I was thinking if I dont like the kp480s as they are that I could use the woofer in a diy horn loaded sub.
twistedcrankcammer
You would have to ask some of the others like Carl in the sub forum about using it for a tapped horn or similar usage. Can you audition the subs in question??? You better be able to get them really cheap in my opinion. Roger
Skelt
What is cheap? I think they are cheap enough for me to go about 120 mi to look at them. A demo might not be possible though. I will take a vom and make sure the drivers are not open. derrickdj1
This would most likely work in a vented sub. Depending on room size, the bottom end may not do the ULF but, the should excel for 40 Hz and up.

I will fall asleep no matter how loud it is.
