InventiveAudio.com
I would call Trey Canon at Klipsch he might be able to identify your speaker's vintage by those numbers. I guess the previous owners didn't have a clue? Also, what crossover do they have this will narrow things down a bit. How do u like the sound and what finish are they in? Jim Cornell
Crossovers are type AA these are what i think are designer black, no grilles at all, no tops no space in between the top and bottom! I did not open the bass cabinet, they were never opened by the looks of them, they are original, also these could be pro line K-horns! Jim They do have the klipsch emblems the same as my chorus 1s! The sound, the bass is a rumble, unbelievable im glad i waited to come across a pair! On one crossover the flat big aeroxox cap is broken off the mount thats all thats wrong with these! And no labels! I LOVE THEM, i have 4 chorus across the room waiting to be used again LOL! Im also thinking of 2 channeling these rather than HT i wont match these with what i have here! Academy center K-horns front! LOL No room to set a la scala or belle, chorus front and rear center! So here i go again, having the problems i love having LOL! jtkinney
I am pretty sure the U would be 1980. My LaScalas are T, built in 79 and my new horns are S, built in 78. Both have AA crossovers. I don't know what the D-R or R-C mean. I just had to hook my khornd up, but all I have is FM radio. It still sounds good even without the bandwidth of a CD. Hardhead
Jim-- Jtkinney is correct. Your Klipschorns were built in 1980. The "DR" and "RC" are the initials of the persons who built them or sanded them. Happy listening.
Jim Cornell
Thank you very much, not a bad year! 22 years old and still excellent. My wife positioned the chorus for me and i hooked them up, then she says the chorus walk all over the K-horns!! LOL Then i said, you have 65 watts per channel on the outlaw, 1 set of k-horns 185 watts per channel on the pyramid with 4 chorus lol I set the amp to match the outlaw, and 1 set of chorus can be heard very well, 2 pair of chorus even better! BUT Im new to the folded horn and didnt want to drown out the K-horn sound! In the long run i have the K-horns up front, and the 4 chorus behind me, all on front output on the outlaw! Not sure about using my sub, ill get back to that! Amp and chorus on rear output i did not like the loud echo effect! Ill keep posting!
